Taper, Sharpen Week for Race Weekend

As mileage tapers down, so will intensity – but it should not be removed completely. The overall volume of the hard workout will be less, but there will still be some race-specific workouts during the taper. A race week workout will minimize sluggishness and build confidence in your ability to run fast. 

Warm Up to Lake Erie

4-6 Sets - Set includes 110 strider pickup; 110 easy; 220 strider pickup. One full lap easy.

“Striders” — or roughly 100-meter “accelerations” where you concentrate on, and emphasize, proper running form. Get your heart rate up some and stretch you leg muscles and tendons.

Cool down back to the Park.
