End of Season Breakfast Run

  • Brew Ha Ha Baton Rouge, LA, 70806 United States (map)

We are on the final stretch of Fall Training for the Half and Full Marathons. It has been an excellent cycle and there has been considerable improvement in those people carefully working the plan.

Today is the beginning of the Taper. If you remember from years past - a component of a good taper is a small amount of pace and interval work to get the legs sharp and ready to run.

Marathoners - this is the backend of the marathon mental rehearsal. Visualize where you are and how you want to be running at this point. You are at a key point on the course - Mile 16-21.5 Miles. This where you need to bear down and try to be consistent. When you get back to Goodwood Park on your way back…you are on your way home.

6.5 MILES: 5.75 Miles with 1 x Pace 1/2 Mile -

Tara Loop

When you get back to Goodwood Park run 1 x 1/2 Mile AT THE EXACT RACE PACE YOU HOPE TO AVERAGE

8 MILES: 5.75 Miles with 3 x 1/2 AT THE EXACT PACE YOU HOPE TO AVERAGE(short recovery the 30 yards back to start after each)

Continue the run until you reach 8 Miles - it should be close by the time you finish the 1/2 s
